HALO Electronics Wins Jury Verdict in Patent Suit Against Pulse Electronics
November 28, 2012
HALO Electronics announced today that it won a jury verdict on November 26, 2012 in a long-running patent dispute involving its proprietary package design for surface mount magnetic components. The jury found that defendants Pulse Electronics, Inc. and Pulse Electronics, Corp. willfully infringed three different HALO patents and ordered them to pay past damages. A future remedy of an injunction or an ongoing royalty will be addressed by the Court in the coming months.
HALO’s patented technology has been widely used in the industry. There are currently five companies that have licensed HALO’s patent portfolio and are authorized to sell components using HALO’s innovative design. These companies include Bel Fuse, Inc., Elec and Eltek (USA) Corp., Wurth Electronics Midcom, Inc., XFMRS Inc., and Bourns Inc.
“We are pleased that the jury validated the strength of our intellectual property and found that Pulse willfully infringed our patents,” said Jeff Heaton, Vice President of HALO Electronics. “We remain committed to protecting and enforcing our patent rights to prevent the unauthorized sale or importation of products that use our patented technology.”
