HALO Announces MOST50 Transformer Solutions
Press Release: September 22, 2008
HALO Electronics, Inc. is pleased to announce our new series of 50Mbps Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST®) Transformers. This series has been designed specifically for the SMSC MOST50 Intelligent Network Interface Controller (INIC).
The MOST50 technology developed by SMSC doubles the bandwidth available for automotive infotainment utilizing the MOST® standard from 25 Mbit/second to 50 Mbit/second. In addition to delivering this significant speed enhancement to the market, this new product line offers transmission over an unshielded twisted pair (UTP) of copper wires. This delivers greater flexibility to car makers that design in-vehicle networks from more of a plug-in, component approach.
HALO has worked closely with the technical team at SMSC to develop this series of transformers which when used in conjunction with the SMSC INIC can satisfy the BER (Bit Error Rate) and noise immunity requirements for automotive applications.
The HALO MOST50 Transformers are designed to meet the AEC-Q200 automotive standard. These devices are available in ROHS compliant or a proprietary Lead Free construction meeting both ROHS and "Green" requirements if required by the automotive industry.
Samples are available from stock to 3 weeks lead-time. Production quantities are available with a lead-time of Stock to 10 weeks.
For more information regarding this proprietary series of MOST50 transformers please contact your local HALO Representative or Distributor.
